A 24-year-old Italian woman is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to hit her ex-partner with a vehicle in Turin, mistakenly striking his five-year-old son instead. The incident, which occurred late Saturday night in the San Donato neighborhood, is under investigation as a potential attempted murder case.

Incident Details and Investigation

According to Italian media, the woman swerved her vehicle at an intersection with the intention of hitting the man, but struck the young boy instead. Passersby reportedly wrote down the vehicle’s license plate number before the suspect fled the scene. The woman was later apprehended by Turin’s Carabinieri mobile patrol unit.

The boy’s father, identified as of Moroccan origin, confirmed to the officers that the woman was his ex. The injured child was urgently admitted to the Sant’Anna Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital, where he remains hospitalized with a fractured abdomen, though his injuries are not life-threatening.

Legal and Personal Background

The accused woman, Camilla D’Alessandra from Nichelino, is currently being held at the Lorusso e Cutugno prison in Turin. She faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault as investigators continue to determine the exact circumstances and motives behind the incident. According to Corriere, D’Alessandra was previously a victim of stalking and abuse from another partner, who was ultimately convicted of his offenses.

Her lawyer, Cristian Scaramozzino, has stated that his client denies hitting the child and disputes the claim that she fled immediately after the accident. The lawyer emphasized the need to clarify the relationship between the woman and the child’s father and whether there was another person in the car, such as a friend or a new boyfriend.

Public and Legal Response

Scaramozzino also mentioned that the woman’s mother called her when the Carabinieri visited, as she is the registered owner of the car. The woman told her mother, “I didn’t hit the child.” The lawyer confirmed that he will accompany his client during Monday’s court hearing.
